Burgh is part of a newly-formed benefice of which Fr Aiden Edwards SSC is the first incumbent. The benefice is made-up of ten parishes which includes Bratoft, Gunby, Irby-in the-Marsh, Orby Welton-le-Marsh, Wainfleet All Saints, Wainfleet S. Mary, Thorpe S. Peter and Croft. The Benefice is under the episcopal care of the Bishop of Richborough.

Sunday Services

1^st Sunday of the month – Family Mass at 10.00am (a shorter Mass which is kept simple for younger people and families new to church)
Every following Sunday 9.30am Sung Parish Mass (Not 5th Sunday)
4.00pm Evensong (Book of Common Prayer)
There is a Low Mass every day in churches across our benefice and there is a Low Mass at 9am on Thursday at Burgh as well as 10.00am on Saturday followed by Rosary or Eucharistic Adoration.

The benefice sits in the Deanery of Calcewaithe and Candleshoe (pronounced Candles – hoe) consists of 36 parishes which make up 8 Benefices. A Benefice is a group of 3 or more Parishes. There are generally 10 to 15 Benefices in a Deanery. Several Deaneries make up an Archdeaconry, and two or three Archdeaconries make up a Diocese.

Father Aiden has been the Rector of the Burgh Group of Parishes which includes the churches, Orby All Saints, St Peters – Gunby, All Saints – Irby In The Marsh, St Peter & St Paul – Bratoft and St Martin – Welton Le Marsh, since March 2023 and is known particularly for his bright yellow Renault and puppy Bella who is often seen with Fr Aiden in the village.
