Burgh W.I President, Pamela Vessey, welcomed several visitors to the first meeting of the autumn session where speaker, Jean Howerd gave an excellent presentation on The Duchess of Portland who she compared to Princess Diana in her qualities of beauty and charitable works . The slides brought to life the ambience of the period, and illustrated the opulence of her lifestyle . The vote of thanks was given by Sylvia Blight .
