June Smith conducted her first meeting as new
president giving details of forthcoming events including arrangements
for the summer outing to Grimsthorpe Castle . Brenda Manning gave a
detailed delegate's report on the Spring Council Meeting held at the
Embassy recently with guest speaker Terry Waite, and Pamela Vessey,
June's predecessor, was presented with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement
Award at the Spring Council Meeting.
Blue badge guide, and honorary
curator of Louth Museum, Jean Howard, gave a fascinating slide presentation
of the Stately Homes of Lincolnshire Past and Present, knowledgeably
explaining the architectural features and the history of Lincoln Castle,
Doddington Hall, Gunby, Belton House, Fulbeck, Tattershall Castle, Harlaxton
Manor and even gave members a preview of Grimsthorpe Castle, the summer
outing venue.
