Speaker,
Ann Freeman, demonstrated and explained the techniques of “Folk Art”
which was fascinating to watch, which is mainly of various types of
flowers. Two colours are loaded onto a straight edged brush, one on
each side, which is then pressed onto the surface of the palette to
work the paint up through the brush and then the stroke is applied to
the painting surface in a calligraphy style action giving a thick and
thin effect which at the same time blends the two colours giving light
and shade all in one movement. Ann brought a wonderful display of craft
ware which she had already completed. Margaret Williamson gave the vote
of thanks. www.annescreations.co.uk
