Maureen
Sutton, writer for Lincolnshire Life magazine, gave a humorous and
fascinating talk on old fashioned Lincolnshire remedies and beauty
treatments, giving examples of products and home made medical treatments
and illustrating them with stories of her childhood memories of their
applications. Many of Burgh members themselves recalled a number of
theses “cures”.
President,
Pamela Vessey, read in her absence, Elizabeth Hamilton's delegate's
report of the National W.I.'s AGM held recently at The Royal Albert
Hall, and thanked all concerned for that morning's successful coffee
morning. Arrangements for the W.I.'s participation in the Burgh Carnival
celebrations were also finalised.
