Burgh W.I. celebrated the 90 th birthday of the Women's Institute Organisation on Wednesday 14 th September. Guests of honour included the mayor of Burgh, Cllr Alan Middleton, his wife, Joan, and County chairman, Jackie Cheetham.

Members and guests thoroughly enjoyed a lively musical afternoon with a buffet and birthday cake.

Gladys Waite and Norah Jackson told of their memories over the years and how much the organisation had featured in their lives.

A 90 th birthday e-mail greeting was sent from New Zealand and President, Pamela Vessey showed everyone a print out of the greeting.
