Burgh's
Young People

For
some time now, the young people of Burgh have been without a communal,
inside meeting place. But now that's changed.
From
September, last year, two venues have been made available, and user
numbers have been steadily growing. On Mondays, at the Baptist Church
, in The Causeway, and on Wednesdays, at the Methodist Church , in
Jacksons Lane , young people are welcome to drop in between 7pm and
9pm.
Although
the venues are churches, there's no religious agenda, the organisations
have simply, and generously made the premises available for all to
use. Adults are on hand to ensure the environment is safe, so why
not give it a try.
The
Town Council fully support this initiative and have donated £100
towards the initial set up.
For
further information contact Colin Bowden on 01754 811260.
The
Town's Website
For
those who have access, and have not yet discovered it, you are urged
to visit www.burghlemarsh.info , where you will find
information about local groups and clubs, businesses, churches, and
events, as well as the Town Council, and much more.
The
Town Council bought software for management of the website and, thanks
to the remarkable efforts of its subwebmaster, Burgh's Sylvia Blight,
the site has undergone a remarkable expansion and improvement over
the past year. Sylvia has worked tirelessly to keep the site up to
date, with her own photographs included in many items.

Meet
the police

P.C.
Andy Marshall is your local community beat manager, and his Police Community
Support Officer (PCSO), is Pete Cobley. Together, they are involved
in a great deal of proactive work, as well as reacting to incidents
in the area. Andy assures you that Burgh has a very low level of crime,
but he is always working to reduce this further.
On
7 th December last year, in conjunction with the Town Council, they
were in the Council Chamber between 2pm and 4pm for anyone to meet them,
and to talk about any issues of concern.
Andy is keen to continue
these meetings, hopefully on a monthly basis, and future events will
be advertised once again in the Post Office, the Library, and on the
notice board in the Market Place. If you can, keep an eye on the Town
Website at www.burghlemarsh.info for details also.
If
you would like to help keep Burgh's policing needs to the fore, and
can spare approximately one hour each month, then you could be just
the person to join the Neighbourhood Panel. The Panel meets informally
to hear an overview and update of issues from Andy Marshall, and to
discuss local concerns, and how they can be best dealt with. The Panel
members include representatives of local communities, East Lindsey District
Council, and the Social Services and Highways Dept. of Lincolnshire
County Council. A representative of Burgh is sadly lacking.
You
can contact Andy Marshall at any time by phoning 01522 532222, and asking
for his voicemail, where you can leave a message.
