As a 7 year old attending
Burgh School Nathan was recommended by sportsmaster, Mr Picken, to be
a member of the 5 player trials for Lincoln City . After completing
two 6 week trials he was offered a place at Lincoln School of Excellence
where he stayed for 1year. When the school experienced some financial
difficulties they released all their schoolboys, so Nathan went on to
play for Mayflower at Boston, then aged 8 years, again for a further
12 months.
A Peterborough scout offered him a trial which he took up and he has
travelled all over Europe during 1996-2000. Peterborough lost its academy
status and following the tradition of the professionals transferred
to Sheffield Wednesday for a month. However, the travelling logistics
weren't practical for the family but Lincoln City were waiting in the
wings and Nathan is still with them today where he is presently waiting
to hear on the 1st March if he has qualified for a 3 year training to
be a professional.
During his football career
he has achieved numerous medals and cups and he also excels at cricket,
golf, swimming and rugby!
