New Year at Haven Lea

By Sandra Nicholls
The ‘Haven Lea' Crew have been very busy since they were last with you.  They went to Keith's Rescue Xmas Fayre, wearing their Santa's Little Helpers outfits and did the ‘Hug A Pug' raising a good sum for the Rescue Dogs. A good time was had by all.  Ruby Dudley and Matty Yum Yum also had a photo shoot at the local pet shop where a visiting photographer came, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it was quite a competition to see who could pose the best!
Christmas came and with it all the fun and excitement that all dogs love, they were thoroughly spoilt of course, much to the despair of their waistlines. As soon as the weather improves it looks as if it will be early morning exercises on the decking again, lycra shorts are optional!  Paws up, Paws down, get the general idea, the response was less than enthusiastic last time, we will persevere.

The snow brought more fun with who could run down the garden the fastest and slide into the house bringing a snowdrift in their wake, jumpers were the order of the day for the little black girls Sybil and Sadie who do feel the cold

very much, radiators were full of gaily coloured jumpers, towels warming, it was a constant job keeping them all warm and dry.

Haven Lea' are also very proud to announce the safe arrival of ‘Racy Ruby's babies, they are all doing well and Ruby is enjoying being a Mum, she constantly washes them, they are the cleanest Pups in England!

Now fawn Pugs have what is known as a black mask, these will be lucky if they do, Ruby will have washed them off!  We are keeping one of the babies, she will be called ‘Haven Lea' Heavenly Storm, and both she and Ruby will be home soon. Storm will join the team in the summer as they attend Fetes and Fayres, and all manner of events and Shows.

They have also had guests to stay, two Pugs, Angel and Megan. A good time was had by all. Angel and Megan are very much loved by all of us and our extended family of Pugs now.  Training will also resume once the weather improves, exams for some will follow this year. PAT DOG visits have been put on hold because of Sandra's health, hopefully later in the year they can begin again. Sybil loves to meet everyone and has a very special way of reaching out to those who need cheering up.

As I write this all are having an afternoon snooze, no doubt dreaming and scheming what to get up to when they wake up, I shall end now and very quietly go and sit down where with a bit of luck I can also have a rest for a while, anyone wishing to meet the ‘Haven Lea' Pugs are always very welcome, until next time, bye for now from all at ‘Haven Lea'.xxxx
