Community Complex Opening & November Report

The “practical completion certificate” was signed by our architect on 26 th Oct which effectively handed the site back to the village.

The official opening of the centre went ahead on Saturday 24 th November despite the weather.

Everyone was thrilled by the transformation of the building even though its outside appearance is almost unchanged.

FatherTterry Steele gave a blessing to launch a new era for the site.

Margaret Dickinson opened the centre with some very well chosen words before releasing balloons into the air. Gladys Waite, one of our most senior residents, gave us the benefit of her thoughts about living in Burgh. She gave the centre her best wishes.

The standard of the workmanship is very good and the facilities will serve Burgh well. Bob King the Taylor Pearson man on site was very proud of the finished product.(not quite finished yet but will be in due course)

The Burgh school children entertained us, and the folk band played some lovely music.

Face painting was very popular and everyone seemed to be in good spirits even though the temperature outside was almost freezing.

The food provided by the tea room volunteers was appreciated and gave the church community tea room a very good chance to show its value to Burgh.
