The new tea room will be open on Monday 29 th October and the Children's Centre will be open for business on the 5 th November.

The site is beginning to look impressive, with the old building having been fully restored.

We look forward to seeing many of you on the 26 th November

Progress Report No 4 – August 2007

We are now working on week 25 of a 33 week programme.

All windows are in place and glazing should be complete within two weeks.

Glass is being cut to size and toughened.

Plumbing work is progressing and the boiler will be installed shortly.

Rooms 2 & 3 are looking good with plastering and flooring almost complete.

Room 1 still has the new floor to lay once the pipe work for the under floor heating is installed.

Work on the outside area is progressing well with the play area looking good.

The boundary wall will be progressed this week once the building inspectors are happy.

The lease with the Sunshine Play Group is now in the hands of their solicitor.

Completion date is now planned for week commencing the 26 th October.

The A158 will have traffic control during the first two weeks of October to allow the windows to be painted and the gutters to be fitted. There will be a small amount of pointing up to do on the roadside brickwork. This work may be completed within a week dependant on the weather which would reduce the traffic delays. Everything is being done to keep this disruption to a minimum.

The official opening date will be announced in my next report.

Community Project Progress Report July 2007

Works progressing and windows are being delivered and fitted on a regular schedule which is allowing plastering to take place in the main hall (room 2).

The new community tea room is now water tight and waiting for it's windows in order that the interior work can start.

The covered outdoor play area roof and the new boiler room are being worked on and should be completed soon.

      The new Tea Room Building

work in progress

The one remaining toilet will be taken out of service very shortly and people using the library will have to use the public toilets in the market place for a few weeks. This is necessary so that the work on the new toilet and the office can proceed.

The bad weather has resulted in delays to the delivery of the windows and to some of the brick work and consequently the completion date is now the end of October.

original feature fireplaces to be retained

The education project is taking shape with the display panels being printed. The students from St Clements College have done an excellent job in interpreting the life of the local community from the stone age to the present.

Year six students at Burgh School have produced designs for the project logo which are now with a local artist, Mike Webster. He will use these designs to produce the Burgh Community Complex official logo.
