Tuesday 29 th August a truly red letter day for Burgh le Marsh with the official digging of the first sod of the Burgh Bypass carried out by Cllr Neil Cooper, attended by the Mayor, Clr Cecil Smith, his wife, mayoress, June, Cllr. Pauline Cooper, Cllr. John Panton, Cllr Norman Barker, Cllr Jim Dodsworth, members of Lincolnshire County Council, members of the construction team, May Gurney, well wishers and the “Burgh Action Group” who successfully campaigned for the reinstatement of the funding of the bypass.
