Burgh
le Marsh celebrated the bypass with a community walk of just over 2
miles.
Three
coach loads of walkers were transported from the village hall at 1.30pm
to the starting point at Layfords. Father Terry Steele performed a blessing
of the bypass and Burgh's mayor, Cllr John Panton, gave a commemomorative
speech. Gladys Waite, one of Burgh's most senior residents, performed
the cutting of the ribbon.
A
reception followed the walk back at the village hall with refreshments
and a special bypass cake and a grand raffle, the star prize being an
HD Television, all proceeds for the Burgh Town Enhancements.
