The
Lincolnshire Folk Group “Da Capo” performed at The Burgh
Methodist Church on Friday evening 19th March as part of The Burgh
Forward Group’s cultural programme, with a selection of anthems,
ditties and ballads including the favourite Moon Shadow.
The group from Market
Rasen have been performing together for twelve years.
A wide range of musical
instruments were played including guitars, recorder and other wind
instruments, squeeze box accordion, African drums of various sizes,
a mandolin and percussion instruments including a home made “boot
stick” which was a stick mounted in a boot with bottle tops
attached, but even more enjoyable was the unaccompanied singing of
the whole group with their harmonies giving a spiritual quality in
the hushed church setting.
