The
Forward Group has been formed to enhance and promote Burgh in
the process of being by-passed. The group can be proud of their
achievements having now completed a full season. An invitation
to the members of the Trades Council has been positive, the only
concerns relating to access and the need for parking. Burgh now
fulfils its role as a service centre for the surrounding parishes.
Thanks
to all who helped with the publication of the 3 rd edition of
“What's On and How To Get There,” it has been a mammoth task and
has proved to be a huge success but further distribution needs
to be undertaken. Both the formation of the Trades Council with
80 paid up members and the fusion of the car scheme have been
landmark events and a further means of bonding the community in
an effective way.
The
Car Scheme: Drivers being fully validated, insurance
in place, equipped with children's seats and with two more drivers
awaiting validation
Cultural
programme: The London Mozart Players have funding until
March and further funding is being sought. Watch this space
for further events.
We
now have partnership with Linkage for the floral decorations
and we were runners up for The Best Kept Village 2008 which
brings
credit to all.
Opportunities
to further promote Burgh with a stall market has been endorsed
by the town council and is to be included in the Parish Plan questionnaire,
your opportunity to respond.
Heritage
Economic Regeneration Scheme together with other funding has raised
the standard of the built environment and street furniture but
we must not be content to rest on our laurels.
The
Forward Group would be pleased to hear your views and suggestions
for the promotion of Burgh.
