The New Year commences with a children’s concert “ Alex and the Warrior” to be held on Thursday 8th January in the Village Hall. This is part of Burgh Forward Group’s cultural programme which had a very successful year in 2003. Burgh is very keen to involve and cater for its younger members of the community and The Wind in the Willows” production performed by the children of St Peter and Paul Primary School was thoroughly enjoyed by both the children and adults last summer.

Two new town signs are scheduled to be erected January/February (one at each end of Burgh) with a commemorative ceremony to be given by mayor, Cllr Jim Dodsworth.
Our big event in May celebrates the granting of The Town Charter 600 years ago.

The revival of Burgh Carnival is scheduled for July, in an updated format and the Country Show will also take place in the same month.

Burgh is a relatively small town but there is a wide range of activities available and this website gives full coverage of all local events.
