Father Terry was born at Grantham, an only child to Walter and Ida Steele. His father died in 1964 and his mother in 1986.

He attended the Church of the Ascension, Harrowby from the age of 4 and

left school in 1969 at the age of 15 to work in retail.

From 1983-1985 he attended Aston Training Scheme (a pre-Theological Course going on to Theological College in Lincoln also from 1985.

He was ordained Deacon by Dennis, Bishop of Grantham in St Wulfram's Church, Grantham in 1987 to serve a curacy at St Deny's Church, Sleaford, and in 1988 ordained as priest in Lincoln Cathedral by Robert, Bishop of Lincoln.

In 1990 became Vicar of Cowbit, Moulton St James, and Weston & Weston Hills

Then in 1995 became Vicar of the Burgh Group of Parishes.

Father Terry is known especially because his dog Jack goes to church and school with him
