was a very special year for Burgh le Marsh with the fruition of
several community projects, such as the completion and opening
of the Burgh Bypass, the new Community Centre and the Methodist
Church 's new extension "The Wesley Community Room"

Civic Service of mayor 2006/2007 Cllr Cecil Smith, the installation
of Cllr John Panton mayor for 2007/2008 and the public meeting
to set up a steering group for a Town Plan.

Twinning visit to Beaumont-Sur-Sarthe
Visit
from Les & Liz Bull from Australia who have been e-mail
pals resulting from their initial contact with the Burgh website
enquiring about their ancestors who originated from Burgh. Les
& Liz are planning to visit Burgh again in June 2008
Visit
from Kit & Ron Howell from New Zealand also
e-mail pals of Burgh Women's Institute. Kit's W.I. corresponded
with Burgh W.I. in 1934 and continued for many years and then
lost touch until four years ago after much research resumed
contact.
